Alex Thrupp is a dynamic rugby player specialising as a centre and wing, with a career spanning various international and national competitions. In 2024, he signed with Belenenses Rugby in Portugal. He also contributed  significantly to Thames Valley Swamp Foxes’ success in the Bunnings NPC Heartland Championship where he recorded nine tries in nine games.

Thrupp’s career is decorated with accolades, including being named Player of the Year while with the BOP Steamers Development team in 2023. His earlier years saw him excel in the NZ Heartland Rugby XV, earning multiple “Back of the Year” awards. With a proven track record at clubs such as Te Puke Sports, VRAC Rugby in Spain, and Southland Stags, Thrupp has showcased his exceptional skills and dedication. His journey from Matamata College 1st XV to the international stage underscores his commitment and growth as a player.
